Do leave your house with a list of items you need or want for your wardrobe. It is important to have a plan.
Do bring water and snacks...My clients can attest to the fact that shopping is exhausting. So bring some a few things to help keep your energy level up.
Don’t buy something just because it is on sale! I know that seeing your favorite designer or an item in your favorite color on sale can be exciting. But do not purchase anything unless it fits and flatters you. Ask yourself if you would buy it if it was full-price. Also, this item should make you happy! Nothing is worse then buying a designer item just because its a designer item- so it just sits in your closet without you ever wearing it. Make sure it fits your shape and brings you joy, before you bring it to the register.
Do know the return policy before purchasing a sale item. Some online sales are final- so make sure to check that out before buying. You don’t want to buy something that doesn’t fit you or a person you are gifting and then have no options to return it.
Do check with the store to see if they will match other stores sales. For example, if you see an item at 40% off at Nordstrom, other stores may match that if you show them the online posting.
Don’t walk around with you purse unzipped. Don’t allow yourself to be an easy target for someone to grab your wallet or other items out of your purse by leaving it unzipped. Also, do not leave your purse or other personal items unattended in dressing rooms.
Have fun! Hunting for sales can be fun and rewarding.
